You Feel Something is Really Wrong
Even if everything seems fine logically, you may feel something is really wrong inside. This is the first sign that you are on the wrong path.
This has happened many times in my life. Naturally, I am a very logical person and tend to ignore all my emotions. But there are times when my emotions become overwhelming. I tend to ignore them too and keep going. In the end, I always find myself facing troubles, such as failure, big obstacles I can’t solve, or situational issues.
When these things happened repeatedly, I went into an observational mode. I continued working on my goals as usual, but I started logging my emotions from time to time. Especially when I felt painful emotions in my heart, I logged them instantly.
From my logs, I found that I feel emotions mostly in my head and heart area. Head emotions are mostly stress, laziness, fear, doubts, worry, and pressure. Heart emotions are mostly sadness, anxiety, and worry.
Upon analysis, I found that head emotions are normal and to be expected. Some heart emotions like sadness and hurt are normal too. But there are certain heart emotions that are not normal, like a deep sense of something wrong. It is a mixture of worry and anxiety.
Every time I feel this deep sense of something wrong, I end up facing obstacles, unfavorable situations, or failure in my goals almost 99% of the time. I call this emotion “Hesitation.” It feels like something inside me doesn’t want to do this task or go this way. It feels like my hesitation senses something wrong in my path or future.
I started to follow this hesitation feeling when it comes. I know that if I ignore it and keep going, I will face problems. I have no option but to achieve my goals, so I need a right path where I will not feel much hesitation and will succeed in my goals.
Through many experiments, I found that when I feel hesitation, I need to make some compromises. These hesitation feelings reflect reality that my logical mind can’t sense. Hesitation has no voice to tell me the reality in advance. So, when I feel something wrong inside, I re-verify my logical plans and become more realistic. I try to make some changes in my plan without stopping my actions to keep the momentum alive.
When I feel very high hesitation, I tend to postpone my goal for some hours or 1-2 days to do more research and preparation. Sometimes I visualize that I am doing the right things and achieving success. If I feel very confused, I change my core purpose to happiness.
Gradually, my hesitation feelings go away, and everything seems fine in my life. This is how I can sense if I am on the wrong path or not.
Note that you can feel some hesitation in your head, which feels like your mind doesn’t want to do the action, feeling lazy or distracted. From my experience, these are not real hesitation. Real hesitation is felt in the heart area most of the time, with some pain feelings.
Also, not all hesitation means a completely wrong path or failure. Deep, highly painful hesitation is a sign of a fully wrong path. Smaller hesitation feelings are signs of obstacles in the path that can be solved along the way.
Try this experiment next time: when you feel something is wrong, keep going on your path. If you find something wrong, then be sure your hesitation feelings are right. Next time, when you feel such hesitation, modify your plan and restart. See what happens yourself.
